Ready for more snow?  It's hard to believe that spring is right around the corner (Women's Lacrosse team opened their season with a game yesterday!) and the planning for this year's Commencement - May 11 - is underway.

Some big news for new and returning students in the fall of 2013:  for the second year in a row, Thomas has frozen tuition, and we're adding two new competitive club sports (Golf and Spring Track), and significantly upgrading Club Hockey.

Alumni - be sure to check out the upcoming Alumni After Hours events where Thomas comes to you, including a May 26 excursion to see the Red Sox at Fenway (more below).

There's lots going on here on campus - let us know what's going on in your neck of the woods.

Until next month...

Tuition Freeze -

Just One of the Ways Thomas Controls Costs

At its January 25 meeting, the Thomas College Board of Trustees voted to freeze tuition for the second year in a row, part of Thomas's ongoing strategy to make college affordable, especially for Mainers.

"We know that Maine families struggle to invest in their children's college costs," says Thomas President Laurie Lachance. "But, we also know that improving access to higher education and helping students graduate translates to a prepared workforce, lower unemployment, and a more prosperous economy. Making college affordable is vital to Maine's future - especially at Thomas, where 80% of students are from Maine, and 85% of the graduates stay and work in Maine."

New Competitive Club Sports

Thomas College Athletic Director, David Roussel '93, has announced that Thomas will add Golf and Track & Field as co-ed competitive club sports in the fall of 2013. The new club sport programs and the existing Club Ice Hockey program will play competitive schedules against other schools and/or clubs in Maine and New England.

Each program will have a qualified coach, and all club sports will be administered by the Department of Athletics.
