What To Expect
The Thomas College Continuing Education Division is fundamentally different from most undergraduate learning experiences. Unlike the traditional “chalk and talk” lecture, a typical class session will be comprised of an overview of a concept by the instructor, then a guided group discussion between you, your classmates, and the instructor. Your classmates will be people like you, who have a full-time job, family commitments, and a wealth of real-world experience. Your responsibility is to do research ahead of the classroom time, and to bring your research, personal, and professional experience into the classroom to share with other learners.
Most students take two or three courses per semester. Courses meet one night per week, either live or online, depending on the class. Live classes are held from 6:00 – 9:30 pm. Online classes can be completed any time during the week, with no fixed time that you have to be available.
The average learner in the Thomas College Continuing Education Division is in their late twenties or early thirties years old and has a family. Most of our students work outside the home.
Most of our students also qualify for Financial aid: tuition is $695. per course with the Thomas College Continuing Education Division. Thomas College offers a comprehensive program of financial assistance to students with academic promise who have demonstrated financial need. Additionally, some students work for employers who pay all or part of their tuition. Check with your Human Resources office to find out if your company has a Tuition Assistance Program
