Bachelor of Science in Accounting—Forensic Accounting

Financial crimes continue to plague our society.  At Thomas College, we are doing something about it.  If accounting, criminal justice, computer applications and data security interest you, then Forensic Accounting is the perfect degree program for you.  You will concentrate on detecting and preventing of fraud and white-collar crimes across a spectrum of small and large businesses.  Accounting, realestate, mortgage and investment, and financial planning gain a lot of attention in forensic accounting investigation reports, but cybercrime is a problem in nearly every corner of the globe.  A forensic accountant is part investigator, part auditor, part information-technology specialist, and part accountant.  Our graduates have been trained in law and rules of evidence as well.  When you leave the program, you will have been taught to successfully investigate fraud and to help set up fraud-prevention programs.

An internship in the field of forensic accounting is highly recommended to give you an added advantage in the job market.  Interns are placed locally and nationally at Thomas.  Our affiliation with the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars is an excellent example of one way that we provide students hands-on experience with government organizations as well as businesses.  The Internal Revenue Service, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the United States Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, Interpol, and many other government agencies and private placements are a part of this program.  Interns at Thomas learn academic credit while achieving their dreams.

Come be a part of our unique program in forensic accounting, and see why employers ask for Thomas College graduates.
